MINISTER STEPHANIE GRINAGE
Associate Minister
Minister Stephanie Grinage accepted Christ at a very young age and began her work in ministry under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Noel C. Taylor at High Street Baptist Church in Roanoke, VA.
It was during this time that Stephanie developed a hunger to share God's word and become an advocate for the disadvantaged, especially those who are overlooked and abused. There are many hurting people in the world who can be set free by Jesus Christ and Stephanie's passion is to live in such a way that puts flesh on God's Word as she points others to Jesus.
In 2004 while a member of Fountain Baptist Church, Stephanie was called to preach under the leadership of Rev. Dr. J. Michael Sanders. She believes that the God who spoke, still speaks so she heard and answered His call to accept the invitation to service and to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The inevitability of the call became clear during her time at Fountain and God's way forward for her life has not wavered since.
Stephanie received a BS degree in Biology at Radford University in Radford, Va. and took courses in Biblical Studies at Palmer Theological Seminary. She received her Master of Divinity degree from New Brunswick Theological Seminary in 2018 and was licensed to preach May 28, 2017 by the late Reverend Dr. Kimberly Credit of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Boonton Township, NJ.
Presently Stephanie serves as an Associate Minister on the staff of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where the passion to be a preacher and teacher of the Gospel of Christ was deepened under the tutelage of Dr. Credit. She was also appointed Minister of Discipleship/Evangelism and the Prayer Leader for the small groups segment of the Prayer Ministry along with the Pastor Elect Rev. Dr Lisa Clayton.
Prayer is a way of life for Stephanie and her main focus is to teach the congregation to move from membership to discipleship so they can continue the legacy of the Great Commission that Jesus left behind. Her desire is to reach the unsaved and help the church at large become true witnesses for the cause of Jesus Christ. She believes that the life of Jesus was lived with a daily commitment to do the will of His Father and meeting the needs of others. For this reason she made a commitment to let the will of God be done in her daily living, always with an intent to assist individuals to live a healthy life spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically within society. By spreading the gospel, being a praying church and assisting in the needs of God's people, lives can be renewed, restored, redeemed, reconciled and replenished.
God’s call on Stephanie’s life can be summed up in her favorite scripture:
Luke 4:18 : "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach
the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to
the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed”
